CHOUETTE RALLYE 2026

23-24-25-26 october 2026

Location : Saint Quentin

PRESENTATION

I have the honor and pleasure to present to you the CHOUETTE RALLYE, which will take place on the weekend of  23-26 october 2026, under the direction of  Dominique De Taverny.

The CHOUETTE RALLYE is a surprise car rally at night in order to put a little “spice” and “bite” in the competition. You have the games, puzzles or questionnaires that will put your mind and your logic to work. However, nothing too complicated or too arduous in order to best preserve the good atmosphere that you will bring to this unique event! You will have a detailed road book so you don’t get lost. The main purpose of this outing is above all fun and relaxation. The rest of the weekend will be devoted to driving and exploring the region. It is important to note that this rally is preferably reserved for classic cars (more than 30 years old) or exceptions (rare vehicles produced in few copies).

I am counting on you to support this new event and hope to welcome you all on the 24th october 2025

PROGRAM

The event will begin on Friday 23 October, in the late afternoon at the Sure Hotel by Best Western Saint Quentin Ouest in Holnon. Participants will have their rooms to relax in or have a drink at the bar, followed by dinner. The bar will be open later in the evening.

On Saturday 24 October, we will depart from the hotel for Blerancourt to visit the Franco-American Museum at the Château de Blerancourt. Built in 1612, the Château de Blerancourt was the home of the wealthy Gesvres pottery family before being dismantled during the French Revolution. In ruins by the end of the 19th century, it was entrusted in 1917 by the French Army to Anne Morgan, daughter of the renowned American banker and collector John Pierpont Morgan. At the head of an association providing aid to populations in war-torn regions, the Committee for Devastated Regions, she continued her humanitarian work until 1924 and participated in the reconstruction of the Picardy region. Thanks to a fleet of Ford Model T vehicles, volunteers were able to serve 130 villages. Working closely with the affected populations, they actively contributed to the moral and social reconstruction of the region and brought joy back to life in a region 90% destroyed during the world war. In the aftermath of the war, Anne Morgan bought back the castle (1919), had the two corner pavilions restored in 1924 to house the Franco-American Cooperation Museum, then in 1930 the north wing of the Castle, followed by the south wing in 1938. Originally dedicated to French participation in the War of Independence and especially to American aid during the First World War, the museum’s cultural project was later extended to Franco-American artistic relations, presented in the Gould Pavilion built in 1989 by architects Yves Lion and Alan Lewitt.

Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we headed to Chivres-Val to visit Fort Condé. Fort Condé is a fine example of late 19th-century military architecture. Located not far from the Chemin des Dames, between Laon and Soissons, this historical monument is part of the defense system conceived by General Séré de Rivière after the defeat of 1870. It follows in the tradition of French fortifications, from Vauban to Maginot Line. Partially destroyed during the First World War, it was designed to house six hundred men and their officers, along with horses and ammunition. During the war, it was captured and recaptured regularly by the Germans, the French, and the British. In the 1950s, the fort housed a bomb disposal center. In 1979, the association for the preservation and enhancement of Fort Condé, churches, and monuments at risk in southern Picardy was created. The fort then began to be renovated. On 1st July 2003, the fort of Condé-sur-Aisne opened to visitors.

In the late afternoon, return to the Sure Hotel by Best Western Saint Quentin Ouest*** in Holnon. You can relax in your room or at the bar before the evening meal.

Then, the rally will begin at night in the countryside around Saint Quentin. You will have to provide answers to questions of all styles. No specific subject, but general questions on very different subjects. Also, questions relating to monuments or places encountered on your route. Finally, surprise games on your route. At the end of your journey, you will return to the hotel where you can enjoy a well-deserved night’s rest. Do not panic ! You are not going to spend the night on the roads. This night game is not obligatory.

On Sunday 25 October, head to Saint Quentin to discover the Village of Trades of Yesteryear & Motobécane Museum. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the “Village of Trades of Yesteryear,” a unique place housed in the former Motobécane factory, spanning 3,200 m² of exhibition space. Behind magnificent, meticulously restored facades, let yourself be swept away by the rediscovery of the trades and skills of the past, faithfully recreated as they were practiced at the time. A true journey through time awaits you, in the heart of a village steeped in history, where every detail, every tool, every gesture tells the story of life as it once was. Between living heritage and collective memory, you will be transported to a bygone era… and yet one that remains so vivid in our memories. Extend your visit by exploring the Motobécane Museum, located in the very heart of its original factory. This unique collection showcases over 120 models, including many rare and previously unseen prototypes, demonstrating the brand’s ingenuity, creativity, and innovative spirit.

For your meal, we offer a unique experience: Welcome aboard a restaurant train comprised of luxury carriages built between the two World Wars by the great railway companies of yesteryear! Designed to accommodate the grand European travelers of the time, these carriages boast particularly refined interiors. On board, you can rediscover, for the duration of your meal, the distinctive atmosphere of the great express trains of yesteryear, this “Orient Express ambiance” invented by the brilliant Belgian, Georges Nagelmakers, in 1872! Please note: Dogs are only accepted if they are small (maximum 15 kg) and only one dog per team.

In the afternoon, you will drive to the “Maison de Marie-Jeanne” museum in Alaincourt. More than just a museum, the Maison de Marie-Jeanne is a place full of surprises and shared experiences. The objects that Marie-Jeanne collected throughout her life are presented in a fun and engaging way. Her collections consist of objects that marked the late 19th and 20th centuries. In seven themed, playful, and interactive spaces, the history of a society is shared with young people, enthusiasts, and all those who explore this region.
